Elixir Strings found me and I found them at 10 years old at a local music store we go to. They slide perfectly, help your tone and clarity, and feel like whipped cream under my fingertips!! They're amazing to play with. The strings stay in tune for the longest time! One set will keep on trucking for the loooongest time!

I LOVE MY LEWIS MANDOLIN!!! I've had it for a long time and I'm growing up with it. It was and certainly still is the best mando I've ever held in my hands. Clear. Easy to play. It's like the notes fly off your fingers. I felt like the world's luckiest kid when I got it. I still feel lucky! Most kids will ask for video games or game systems, but instead of all of that, I got my Michael Lewis mandolin! What I like most about its looks is the pick guard. It's like a brown/orange tiger/zebra skin/fur thingy is going on there. sounds crazy but it's not!

I use Clayton USA picks. Those picks are amazing. the little USA eagle is awesome! I love their 1.00 mm thick black picks. the best sounding and looking. they're what I look for in a pick! the thick blast of the pick on the string gives you an unbendable, bold, and clear bomb to play with. they are the best, and only 3 for a dollar!!

Thank you Kat Moser for the early insight of knowing the not-too-distant future would hold the need for a widespread communication base from Scott Gates to family, friends and fans.

Kat Moser was Scott's first fan though he was still only seven years old. She spread awareness of young musician Scott Gates as a student of master mandolinist Evan Marshall throughout the new musician’s world to which Scott was entering, and was first to put Scott in front of a crowd of intent listeners at a party in her home.Kat secured ScottGates.com for when the time was right to prepare a web presence. She then brought Scott in to help her create the site and she has maintained it alone since 2003.

Now, as Scott has grown, so has the site and Manzolin Records brought in ArtistPages for a contemporary site design and the addition of the alternate domain name PacificOceanBluegrass.com where we share with you the fun and excitement Scott and Pacific Ocean Bluegrass experience while forming their new band, recording a cd, and performing throughout the West Coast, and beyond. We have trained a member of the Manzolin Records staff to assist Kat and Catherine in maintaining the growing website and look forward to our relationship for years to come.
